Severin Schurger

Andres Guanerius, 

Andres was the grandfather of the more famous Joseph Guarerius.  This violin, made in 1864, is much repaired but the price reflects this.  It is tonally outstanding with a wonderful sweet sound that carries well.  Certificate: Robert Bein.

 

Lorenzo & Tommaso Carcassi, worked together from 1735-1776

These two brothers were the most prominent members of a family of violinmakers. This small-pattern violin with medium arch possesses a clear, ringing sound. This beautiful violin is dated 1760, Florence. Certificate: Dario D'Atilli     $40,000
